MEET THE AUTHOR
T. Lamar Taylor is a disabled veteran and Louisiana native who now calls San Antonio, TX, home. He spent his early years living between two grandmothers: one deeply superstitious, the other living in a trailer rumored to be built atop a graveyard. Those experiences sparked his lifelong fascination with the paranormal and the mystical and became the foundation that continues to shape his storytelling.
Taylor’s love for writing began in middle school, when a short story he wrote impressed both a teacher and the vice principal. During basic training, he wrote tales to lift the spirits of fellow soldiers in the barracks. After a spinal cord injury left him a quadriplegic, writing became more than a passion. It became an escape and a tool to reclaim purpose through imagination.
Over the years, he attended writing workshops, participated in writing circles, and worked with a writing coach, honing his craft and sharpening his voice as a storyteller.

He writes dark fiction, urban fantasy, and horror that blurs the line between humanity and monstrosity through heroes and villains alike.
When he isn’t crafting new worlds, Taylor channels his creativity into painting with acrylics and oils—despite the challenges of his disability. He also finds inspiration in anime and a steady diet of horror novels and films, which feeds his fascination with the beautifully bleak.
The Gloom: Arachnophobia is his debut novel and the first entry into an expanding series, with many more stories yet to emerge from the shadows.

“A well-crafted deconstruction of dystopian vampire tropes with style and class.” — Kirkus Reviews
